BTS Skips the Met Gala as the ARIRANG World Tour Continues to Shake America

BTS Chooses Stadiums Over the Red Carpet

As celebrities from around the world gathered in New York City for the 2026 Met Gala, many fans expected BTS to finally make their long-awaited appearance at fashion’s biggest night.

But the world-famous Korean group never arrived.

Instead of walking the red carpet, BTS reportedly chose rest and recovery during a short break in their ongoing “ARIRANG” world tour across the United States.

For some fans, the absence was disappointing. But for many Korean ARMY members, the decision made perfect sense.

“ARIRANG” Tour Continues to Dominate America

BTS is currently in the middle of one of the largest concert tours in the group’s history.

Concerts across:

  • Texas

  • California

  • Florida

  • Nevada

have sold out rapidly, attracting massive crowds and generating enormous economic impact for local businesses.

Hotels, restaurants, transportation companies, and shopping centers near concert venues have all reportedly benefited from the wave of international fans traveling across America to see BTS perform live.

American theaters have even started broadcasting BTS concerts to audiences unable to secure stadium tickets.

Industry experts say the “ARIRANG” world tour is proving once again that BTS remains one of the most powerful entertainment brands on the planet.

Because of the intense tour schedule, many fans understood the group’s decision to rest rather than attend another major public event.

Korean Media Focuses on HYBE and Bang Si-hyuk

At the same time, Korean media continues to closely follow ongoing investigations involving HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk.

Reports indicate prosecutors are reviewing financial and corporate matters connected to HYBE’s rapid expansion.

Bang Si-hyuk’s side has denied wrongdoing and stated that they are cooperating with investigators.

Although no final legal ruling has been made, the issue has become highly sensitive because of HYBE’s enormous influence over the global K-pop industry.

Some Korean media outlets cautiously suggested that ongoing legal controversies surrounding HYBE may also have influenced BTS’s decision to avoid additional public spotlight during the Met Gala period.

Korean ARMY Fans Defend BTS’s Decision

Among Korean ARMY fans, reactions online have been emotional but largely supportive.

Many fans wrote comments such as:

  • “Rest is more important.”

  • “The tour schedule is already exhausting.”

  • “BTS does not need the Met Gala to prove their global status.”

  • “Selling out stadiums is more impressive than attending fashion events.”

Some fans admitted they hoped to see BTS make history at the Met Gala. However, many others argued that protecting the members’ health and maintaining focus on the world tour should come first.

There is also growing concern among some Korean fans that political or legal controversies involving HYBE could eventually create unnecessary pressure on BTS during one of the group’s most important comeback periods.

Some supporters expressed frustration toward the current Korean left-wing government, believing prosecutors are pursuing aggressive legal action against Bang Si-hyuk despite his publicly known identity and cooperation with investigators.

Still, most fans share one common hope: that BTS’s music, performances, and cultural influence will remain stronger than any controversy surrounding the company.

As BTS continues filling stadiums across America, many Korean ARMY members believe the group has already achieved something far bigger than a single fashion event.
